peg doll kit

Have just finished creating a peg doll kit - one with movable limbs. I intend to list this in my Etsy shop soon.

I've 'posed' the pieces next to what it started out as. It's designed to be fixed together using string (or wool etc.) and painted or dressed according to personal taste.
Would love to know what folk think about it.

art club

Today in art club we made paper maquettes as a prelude to creating life-size sculptures. I think we may be a tad ambitious in what we hope to achieve!

Our aim is to use papier mache over a thick card support. We went for a gymnastic theme - wish us luck.

how to booklet

Just dug out a 'how to' booklet I produced a while back. It details a very simple method whereby anyone can draw easily recognisable pictures. It doesn't promise to turn you into the next Leonardo but it will equip you with a way of going beyond stick-men.

Shortly to be in my Etsy shop.

paper sculpture

Y3 art today - we did some abstract paper sculpture. I intend to take this, via more 'in the round' pieces (representing 'machines'), towards tackling simple automata - it will tie in with our intended Victorian 'topic' (oops, not allowed to call them that anymore!).

Jakes reappear

Have decided to see how well the 'Jakes' go down again (see way, way back for their conception).

First up is a red footy kitted figure.

Easter

Last day before hols today - had time to do some sketches & doodles with the children. Utilised Easter eggs in the place of circular/spherical objects for a bit of whimsical humour.

robot, doll + ice-cream

One more sketch - another cute, whimsical pic of a girl 'bot cuddling her doll and just about to savour a delicious ice-cream.
