more clay

Our penguins are on display. They look great huddled in small groups in an icy terrain.

Meanwhile, I've been playing around with more rounded 3d versions of my figures. 2 slabs joined and smoothed. Two 'girls' and a footy supporter - the girls are headless because I'm attaching the heads separately. Impatient for them to dry so I can bisque fire them.

painted penguins

Today y4 painted their clay penguins. We had a little production line/process going where we painted all the white bits, then the black and finally the beaks. We decided not to add eyes as they might have spoiled the overall effect.

Even the misshapen and wobbly ones look good en masse.

Next time - polar bears, with 'proper' clay, fired and glazed!
