flowers

Following on from their flower painting last week, the y1's looked at Van Gogh's iconic work and had a go at painting their own sunflowers.
It was good practice in both colour mixing and brush technique.

plein air

We've been painting 'murials' (in Hilda Ogden speak) on the outside wall of our FS1 building. It's a work in progress and will take a good few weeks (time and weather permitting) as there's over 20m of wall to do!

We've started with flowers and vegetables as this section is next to the garden area.

sunflowers & clay

In FS2 today we painted sunflowers. Using glue spreaders and thick paint we created an abundance of petals.

Love the thick textures on this one - very reminiscent of van Gogh!

We finger-printed the seeds.

And this is what we ended up with.

In Y2 following on from the spider sketches we did last week we were again in mini-beast mode - creating insects from clay, matchsticks & pipecleaners.
