Mixed Doubles

Did a quick sketch today - 'Badminton, mixed doubles'. Ink pen & pencil in my moleskine. Not sure why badminton, except that I wanted to try figures in a perspective setting.

Red Nose Doodles

As part of our Red Nose Day activities today, my class doodled some pics based on 'red noses'. This is a page from my sketch book showing some of the ideas we came up with. Thinking about it we could always develop them into badges or t-shirt motifs and possibly sell them to raise money/awareness at other times of the year.

Howzat!

In honour of the cricket world cup that has just started I thought I'd put together some aceo collage pics. More of an experiment really into seeing how easy and effective the process would be. I'm quite pleased with the results and am thinking of using the same technique on other sporting images.

'left arm spin', 'hook', 'HOWZAT!' - all 3.5 by 2.5", collage, ink & acrylics.

B is for bear

A teddy bear sort of day today. I used to sell quite a lot of teddy bear artwork at craft fairs a couple of years ago so thought I'd do a quick pen sketch for old times sake. Might try and dig some out and post them.

Lowry-esque aceo

Watched an enjoyable programme the other day - Rolf on Lowry. Was inspired to do a humble homage using 'A' figures instead of 'Matchstalk' ones (interesting to hear the explanation about matchstalk being used as a plural for matchstick).

'Sunday football', Pen & ink on paper, 3.5 by 2.5"

To brighten the day

A bit of a miserable day weather-wise so I thought I'd paint a small pic of sunflowers. Reminds me of Summer in France.

10 by 10cm, acrylic on 325gsm paper.
