As a final project in ceramics club this term we made tee light 'holders'. Very simple slab construction, plainly glazed.

The y3's theme this term is 'see the light'. To this end we've created images that show that colours can only be seen when there is an available light source. I think I saw an image on the Internet that sparked me off.

The production of poppies continues apace. More have been sculpted today. I think we might end up with 300+ which should make for a very effective display. Next week - glazing!

Silhouettes

In Y3 science this week, we looked at light travelling in straight lines, shadows being created and consequently linked it to Art via silhouettes. We briefly discussed the history of silhouette imagery before having a go at creating some of our own. We found cutting intricate shapes a little tricky but managed to produce some recognisable images - this is a dragon.
