The y2's are studying 'Florence Nightingale'. After making pop-up lanterns we had time to draw pics of her. Top left are the before pics.
I think they managed to create recognisable images.

Y4's began their study of Romans this week so we made small 3d figures of legionaries.
They look quite effective en masse, with each figure standing about 15cm tall. Not sure whether to make some barbarians for them to 'fight'.

Local brocante today - picked up these two vintage school posters.

Today the y4's painted their clay relief sculptures of Roman legionaries.

We'll mount them on thick card when they're dry.

Have finally got round to making some (rough and ready) mannequin stands to display the Roman costumes from our last Xmas production! They look quite effective lined up in ranks. Now just got to find a suitable place in school to position them.

An ancient Greek version of the recent Viking figure. Am seriously thinking of putting together a booklet of warriors through the ages, that utilises this generic, very simple but ingenious method of construction. Any thoughts on which figures to include?
